Build the AI
that answers the phone.

Telephoned.pro builds AI receptionists and automation for US businesses: plumbers, clinics, law firms and more. We're looking for a mid-level engineer to build the voice agents, integrations and platform behind it.

What you'll work on

Four areas, one product.

Voice AI agents

Build and tune the AI receptionist: prompts, call flows, tools, transfers and escalation, then measure how real calls go.

Client automations

Connect clients' CRMs, calendars, SMS, email and invoicing so a booked call turns into a scheduled job without anyone typing.

Platform and portal

Ship features on the website and partner portal: React, TypeScript and Supabase (Postgres, edge functions).

The AI dialer

Help design and build outbound AI calling, with consent, calling-hour and Do-Not-Call rules built in from day one.

A real call, end to end

From ring to booked job, in code you wrote.

A homeowner calls at 9 p.m. with a leaking water heater. Your agent answers, asks the right questions, checks the calendar, books a technician and texts a confirmation, and the job shows up in the client's CRM. You'll own pieces of that path and measure how they perform on real calls.
  • Voice agent prompts, tools and transfers
  • Calendar, CRM and SMS integrations
  • Logs, evaluations and call reviews

Who we're looking for

You'll do well here if you

  • Have 2–5 years of professional software experience, with real work in TypeScript
  • Have shipped something with LLM APIs: tool calling, structured output, retrieval or evaluations
  • Are comfortable with Postgres and server-side code, and care about security and data privacy
  • Write clearly, work independently and say early when something is off track
  • Can overlap a few hours a day with US Eastern business hours

Bonus: experience with voice AI platforms, telephony (for example Twilio), Supabase or React.

Apply

Show us what you've built.

It takes about 5 minutes. Attach your CV as a PDF; a link to real work matters as much as the CV itself.

Questions

Before you apply

Neither, for now: this is a contract role. You work as an independent contractor on clearly scoped projects, and tell us in the application how many hours a week you can take on.

Anywhere. Our clients are in the US, so we ask for a few hours of overlap with US Eastern business hours each day for calls and reviews.

React and TypeScript on the front end, Supabase (Postgres, row-level security and Deno edge functions) on the back end, and hosted LLM and voice AI platforms for the agents. Being productive in TypeScript matters most; the rest you can learn here.

It helps, but it isn't required. Experience shipping something real with LLM APIs, such as tool calling, structured output or evaluation, matters more.

We read every application and look at the work you link. If it's a fit, we'll email you to set up a short intro call.
